New Toughness Features of the 2018 Ford F-150

Ford redesigned the 2018 F-150, adding safety features and using enhanced materials, making it one of the more popular full-size pickup trucks available. By avoiding conventional steel and preparing the car to protect the passengers during an accident, Ford greatly upgraded their flagship truck.

Most trucks use conventional steel for the bed or cab, but Ford decided to go with high- quality and military-grade aluminum alloy, which is not only a tougher material, but it's also lighter. The new F-150 drops nearly 700 pounds from what the past models used to weigh without sacrificing your safety at all. Further showing their commitment to safety, the 2018 F-150 SuperCrew got a five-star rating from NHTSA, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Testing involved checking how the car performs during a frontal, side-pole, side barrier or rollover collision, and the F-150 received the highest possible score.
